Career Objective

My objective is to find a career that will allow me to have a sense of fulfillment by helping children learn.

Professional Experience

Center for Autism and Related Disorders, San Juan Capistrano, California (2001 — Present)
Case Consultant (2005 – Present)                                            

~ Develop comprehensive individualized programs and behavior intervention plans for clients based on their strengths and deficits,     addressing areas of delay including language skills, play skills, social skills, social cognition skills, executive functioning skills,         motor skills, self care skills, and academic skills. 
~ Monitor and adapt programs based on the client’s rate of acquisition and unique needs.
~ Complete direct supervisory work with clients including holding clinic meetings twice per month and conducting home, school,
    and other therapy observations.
~ Provide parent training and consultation to the clients’ family in order to transfer skills necessary to work with their child outside     of the therapeutic setting. 
~ Work directly with the funding agencies including local school districts, Regional Centers, and insurance companies in order to         establish and monitor the child’s progress in their program through the adherence to instrumental benchmarks and ultimate         goals.   
~ Prepare and monitor progress towards internal progress reports, Regional Center reports, and Individual Education Plan (IEP)         reports. 
~ Recommend program goals, supports, modifications, services, and number of therapy hours (per week) for the client.
~ Attend school district and Regional Center meetings including IEP meetings, Planning Team Meetings, and Individualized Family     Service Plans.
~ Complete Functional Behavioral Assessments and/or intakes for incoming clients and clients waiting for services. 
~ Directly supervise up to thirty senior and junior therapists who provide ABA for children with Autism across the home,                 community, and school settings.
~ Directly mentor and evaluate up to ten senior and junior therapists at a time. 
~ Interviewed and hired junior therapists.  Trained both junior and senior therapists in methodologies of ABA, discrete trial training,     natural environment training, and behavior modification. 
~ Oversaw waitlist by maintaining contact with families waiting for services.
~ Oversaw daily and ongoing scheduling for approximately forty therapists and forty-five clients.  Coordinated and approved any     scheduling changes.
~ Instrumental in opening a new branch office in Sacramento, California.  Provided training and supervisory support to the office.
~ Traveled to both Sacramento and Arizona offices on a bi-weekly basis in order to oversee up to five client’s programs.


Senior Therapist (2004 – 2005)

~ ABA therapist for children with Autism. 
~ Implement behavior modification and Discrete Trail Training methodologies in both the home and school settings.
~ Implement therapy programs targeting language, verbal behavior, cognition, executive functioning, theory of mind skills, school     skills, social skills, play skills, PECS, self care skills, and potty training.  
~ Complete a monthly progress report for each client.
~ Prepare and introduce training materials and programs for use in therapy sessions.
~ Coordinate a team of up to five junior therapists and act as a mentor to those team members.
~ Assist the case supervisor with parent training.
